Dean of St. Augustine College at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Announced

Dr. Angela Vidal-Rodriguez has been appointed as the new Dean of St. Augustine College at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. She will assume the position on Monday, July 28, 2025.

 

Dr. Christopher Sindt, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ provost made the announcement and said, “Dr. Vidal-Rodriguez brings with her 20 years of experience in higher education, having served in leadership roles at Northeastern Illinois University, the University of Michigan, and Valparaiso University. She has dedicated her career to expanding educational access and promoting student success, particularly for first-generation and underrepresented students. Her commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive environments for students, faculty, and staff will be a tremendous asset to our community.”

 

In the dean’s position, Dr. Vidal-Rodriguez will be responsible for managing the bilingual programs and operations of St. Augustine College at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ with a goal of meeting Spanish-speaking students where they are in their educational process. She will oversee operations, external relations, and strategy.

 

In her previous positions, Dr. Vidal-Rodriguez has coordinated strategic planning and led University wide engagement initiatives to foster student success, assessing educational needs, designing responsive programs, cultivating stakeholder relationships, and securing governance participation. She has also managed initiatives to decrease gaps in student success outcomes among identified student groups by cultivating key partnerships and building diverse, high-performing teams.


Vidal earned her Ph.D. Higher Education - Organizational Behavior and Management from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, her M.B.A. Management and Strategy from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago and her B.A. Economics from Anahuac University, Mexico City, Mexico.
